“Naniki” is a South American word meaning Spirit and my stud name is dedicated to a little lilac Burmese Kasadan Spook who crossed over the rainbow bridge in 2002.

My interest in owning and breeding Birmans commenced with the purchase of Arakan Kanoehe from Marie Mahoney of Nicsha Birmans. Kanoehe now spends his days with us in idle retirement.

Marie has been exceedingly generous with her time and knowledge and in also allowing me to purchase one of her lovely lilac girls, Nicsha Justa Delight.

I am also very grateful to Marilyn Loader of Kharisma Birmans for allowing me to have Kharisma Kisha Myst and Kharisma Faberge Lace. Kisha allows me to share her bed and Lacey demonstrates how cute a “naughty Tortie” can be. Both these girls are from Marilyn’s lovely girl Larouge Cherokee’s Sioux (imp NZ).

In 2003, Gr Ch Shaman Kittah joined the Naniki team. It was a dream come true to be able to purchase a chocolate boy who was already a grand champion.  Shaman Birmans have some great bloodlines that aren’t widely available and Kit carries many of those lines.  I am very grateful to Karen and Frank for allowing me to have Kit.

Naniki Stud is located in the lovely Lockyer valley just a short drive from Brisbane. We are registered with the Qld Feline Association. Kittens are raised in the house and as much time as possible is spent socialising them. They become very adaptable, so much so that one of our boys is “first mate” on a yacht and often goes sailing with his owners in his little life jacket.
